Light Blue Optics (LBO) recently announced its first product – ‘Light Touch’ – an interactive projector that turns any flat surface into a 10″ touch screen. ‘Light Touch’ not only frees multimedia content from the confines of the small screen, but also lets users interact with that content in the same way as they expect to on their other hand-held devices – using touch technology.

‘Shade Pixel’

Shade Pixel‘ is an interactive display that uses flexible Spandex to represent information. It can be used as an ambient display for its peripherality; non-luminescent nature and simple appearance.

The main difference from other displays is that ‘Shade Pixel’ is applicable to the surfaces of everyday products or to the environment as an interactive skin.

the third generation of the ‘One Laptop Per Child’ project

Education means a chance for a better life. But for the majority of the children in the developing world, access to education remains difficult. Nicholas Negroponte created the ‘One Laptop Per Child‘ foundation and worked with fuseproject to create a low-cost laptop specifically adapted to children and their environment.

Now Yves Béhar of San Francisco design studio fuseproject has unveiled plans for the third generation of the XO laptop.

The latest version of the affordable computer – which will retail for an estimated $75 and which is called XO-3 – is a table-format device with a semi-flexible plastic screen.

The XO-3 is expected to ship in 2012.
