‘Les Somnambules’ by Alain Sechas

0 Comments 09 April 2009

nuit et jour | Alain Sechas

‘Les somnambules’ (‘The sleepwalkers’) by Alain Sechas feature three white cats as protagonists, cats that do not smile – cats with absence of expression, even if ‘more than a few people share the sensitivity to find eros in cats’.

At first glance, the cats appear indifferent and artless, but something is in fact being suppressed at a subconscious level. This work expresses the artist’s nausea towards modern desire represented by TV culture.
