This aluminium lamp ‘Nan16′ designed by German designer Sebastian Herkner for nanoo surprises with its second function. A socket is positioned on the underside of the lampshade, extending the flow of electricity from the light source.

‘This light consists of an aluminium lamp shade and acrylic glass as a diffuser. Its defining feature is the integrated power plug, which extends the electric circuit to further appliances.’

‘Herkner thinks not only of the light itself. He is also concerned with the object that is to be lit, which often requires an additional source of energy in order to fully unfold its potential. Whether a laptop, a toaster on the kitchen table or an electric drill, ‘Nan16′ takes care of it and offers a direct connection. The room lamp was created from the consideration of a scenario from our everyday life. It is the imagination of a possible process that has led to this surprising product.’
