London-born artist Stephen Wiltshire has been drawing skylines from memory since age 5. This one’s New York…
Stephen Wiltshire is an artist who draws and paints detailed cityscapes. He has a particular talent for drawing lifelike, accurate representations of cities, sometimes after having only observed them briefly.
He studied Fine Art at City & Guilds Art College.
‘Throughout the last week of October, he was sketching his masterpiece at Pratt Institute, the world-famous college of art and design, in New York. The crew was following Stephen and featured his work and life in a weeklong series on CBS.
Stephen Wiltshire has been called the “Human Camera.” In this short excerpt from the film Beautiful Minds: A Voyage into the Brain, Wiltshire takes a helicopter journey over Rome and then draws a panoramic view of what he saw, entirely from memory.’
