2 Comments 04 October 2009

How the designers describe their Vase and Timer:

‘A ceramic Vase that integrates a cooking timer. An object that upgrades the status of the Timer and the Vase as well, so they can take there proper place in the kitchen. Moreover, it actualizes “1+1=3” in a distinct and refreshing manner.’

Studio Lama is a multidisciplinary endeavor, founded in 2008 by Eitan Gigi and Ofer Dahan. The studio focuses on Product and Commercial Design. Design is what they love.

I don’t quite get how it works with the timer, but I like the idea behind the product. It’s taking a functional thing and adding some beauty to it. That’s always a good thing.

Does the kitchen timer have contact to the water in the vase? The picture do not show if or if not.

I enjoy the idea of having a functional object, which is an artwork at the same time.

Still I wonder the kitchen timer would not last long, if you are not taking enough care while filling water into the vase.
